A vinyl version of
Dolly Parton’s Jolene album and a CD version of Megan Thee Stallion’s Good News album.
Research
I listened to both albums all the way through making note of how both artists’ lyrics tackle femininity. Megan Thee Stallion has an unapologetic and bold approach to her lyricism while Dolly Parton has a romantic and carefree feel.
Good News CD
For the Good News CD I represented the opulence present in Megan’s lyrics with gold jewelry and rich textures and juxtaposed them with sharp nails and a silk durag to represent her biting wit and love for black culture.
